‘Isley Brothers’

“Twist and shout”(1961) a fost primul hit bine pozitionat in topurile pop si r&b al celor de la Isley Brothers. Era un cover dupa piesa lansata de o trupa reprezentanta a genului calypso, Top Notes, cu un an mai devreme . Versiunea formatiei Isley Brothers aduce piesei elementele rock and roll care ii asigura succesul pe piata muzicala. Acelasi succes il are si Beatles in 1964 cu “Twist and shout”.

The Isley Brothers este o formatie care incepand din 1959 si pana in prezent a avut in fiecare deceniu macar un hit in primele pozitii ale clasamentului Billboard. Au acoperit o gama foarte larga de stiluri (rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, funk, disco, doo-wop sau hip-hop) si de asemenea componenta trupei a variat continuu. “Nobody but me” a fost lansat in 1963 dar a impresionat abia in 1968 in interpretarea formatiei The Human Beinz.
