‘Neil Sedaka’

“Next door to an angel”, un doo-wop din 1962 este ultimul succes notabil al lui Neil Sedaka de la inceputul anilor 1960, dupa care, odata cu invazia britanica, urmeaza o perioada de absenta din primele pozitii ale topurilor muzicale. Abia in 1975 Neil Sedaka revine in lumina reflectoarelor cu un number one in Statele Unite – “Laughter in the rain”.

O cariera de peste 50 de ani pentru Neil Sedaka. Profesoara de muzica din liceu i-a remarcat aptitudinile muzicale care le-a recomandat parintilor ca Neil Sedaka sa ia lectii de pian. Acestia i-au cumparat fiului lor un pian second hand. Incepand cu 1958 artistul s-a impus pe piata muzicala, iar incepand cu 1961 a lansat o serie de piese in limba italiana. “Happy birthday sweet sixteen” a fost inregistrat in 1961 si ajungea pe pozitia 6 in topul Billboard.

Singurul si unicul Neil Sedaka cum ar spune americanii, unul dintre cei mai prodigiosi compozitori si cantareti, un artist care a scos melodii de top pe banda rulanta, un romantic incurabil facand in acest cantec o declaratie de dragoste.

Nu incerc sa ma dau specialist cu comentariile mele, dar din ratiuni de optimizare si intrucat blogul e destinat publicului roman e absolut necesara comentarea pieselor. Din punctul meu de vedere melodii ca aceasta se comenteaza mai putin, dar va rog sa aceptati si polologhia mea care poate parea cam bombastica si cu termeni utilizati cam prea des.
