‘Johnny Cash’
Johnny Cash – Get Rhythm
Johnny Cash a facut parte din celebru trio care la studiourile Sun a dat semnalul inceputului erei rockabilly si rock and roll. Ceilalti doi artisti erau Elvis Presley si Carl Perkins. Stilul lui Johnny Cash era mult mai apropiat de country in schimb sound-ul pieselor sale (doua chitare si un contrabas) avea sa se regaseasca la majoritatea cantaretilor rock and roll ai anilor 1950. Piesa” Get Rhythm” a fost lansta in 1956 pe acelasi disc cu “I walk the line”.
Hey, get rhythm when you get the blues
Hey, get rhythm when you get the blues
A jumpy rhythm makes you feel so fine
It’ll shake all the troubles from your worried mind
Get rhythm when you get the blues
A Little shoeshine boy never gets low down
But he’s got the dirtiest job in town
Bendin’ low at the peoples’ feet
On the windy corner of the dirty street
Well, I asked him while he shined my shoes
How’d he keep from gettin’ the blues
He grinned as he raised his little head
Popped a shoeshine rag and then he said
Get rhythm when you get the blues
Hey, get rhythm when you get the blues
It only costs a dime, just a nickel a shoe
Does a million dollars worth of good for you
Get rhythm when you get the blues
Hey,get rhythm when you get the blues
Yeah , get rhythm when you get the blues
It’s a jumpy rhythm makes you feel so fine
It’ll shake all your troubles from your worried mind
Get rhythm when you get the blues
Well, I sat down to listen to the shoeshine boy
And I thought I was gonna jump for joy
Slapped on the shoe polish left and right
He took a shoeshine rag and he held it tight
He stopped once to wipe the sweat away
I said you’re a mighty little boy to be-a workin’ that way
He said I like it with a big wide grin
Kept on a poppin’ and he said again
Get rhythm when you get the blues
Hey, get rhythm when you get the blues
Get a rock’n'roll feelin’ in your bones
Taps on your toes and get gone
Get rhythm when you get the blues
Johnny Cash – I Walk The Line
Johnny Cash, unul din cei mai influenti artisti ai secolului 20, a fost supranumit “Omul in negru” datorita stilului sau vestimentar si a activat nu numai in zona country, rock and roll si rockabilly ci a abordat si alte genuri muzicale precum blues, folk sau gospel. Johnny Cash se remarca prin vocea sa baritonala, iar in 1956, “Iwalk the line” devenea primul sau hit number one in topul Billboard.
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time.
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you’re mine,
I walk the line
I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I’ll admit I’m a fool for you
Because you’re mine,
I walk the line
As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I’ve known proves that it’s right
Because you’re mine,
I walk the line
You’ve got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can’t hide
For you I know I’d even try to turn the tide
Because you’re mine,
I walk the line
