‘Gene Vincent’

Intre 1960 si 1965 Gene Vincent realizeaza o serie de spectacole impreuna cu trupe britanice si transmise de BBC. In 1963 impreuna cu The Outlaws, in componenta careia se regasea si Ritchie Blackmoore, viitorul membru a trupei Deep Purple, canta o serie de melodii foarte rare printre care si “I’m gonna catch me a rat”.

Gene Vincent este recunoscut ca unul din pionieirii muzicii rock and roll si rockabilly. Desi isi dorea initial o cariera militara, un accident de motocicleta suferit in 1955 a facut imposibila continuarea acivitatii sale in marina americana. Imagini cu Gene Vincent cantand “Baby Blue” sunt din filmul “Hot Rod Gang”(1958).
