5 saptamani pe primul loc in SUA si 7 saptamani in Marea britanie pentru piesa “Cathy’s clown” din 1960 a grupului Everly Brothers. Este considerat cel mai mare succes muzical al trupei, discul vanzandu-se in peste 8 milioane de exemplare. Inspiradu-se de la acest cantec, Beatles a realizat aranjamentul piesei “Please, please me”.

In 1957 Everly Brothers lansau primul lor hit “Bye Bye Love” un cantec compus de Felice si Boudleaux Bryant, cu care grupul a colaborat intens intre 1957 si 1960. Intre 1957 si 1958 Everly Brothers si Buddy Holly au sustinut turnee impreuna. Din 1960 trupa a semnat un contract cu Warner Bros si au continuat sa lanseze piese de top cu vanzari foarte mari pana in 1965 cand incepea invazia muzicii britanice. In 1973 cei doi frati s-au despartit in urma unui scandal din timpul unui concert. Abia in 1983, dupa 10 ani, Everly Brothers s-au reunit.

Ce-i de facut cand promiti ca aduci fata inapoi la ora 10 seara, dar s-a intamplat sa va fure somnul in timpul filmului si te-ai trezit la patru dimineata?
Everly Brothers un grup care a influentat muzica altor nume mari ca Beatles sau The Beach Boys. Ador emotia pe care o transmite piesa aceasta, iar orchestratia e fabuloasa. Pastreaza pe anumite portiuni sound-ul country, dar doar pentru ca se potriveste de minune povestirii intamplarii celor doi adolescenti, insa forta si exuberanta melodiei o da ritmul rock and roll, prin supraestimarea tragismului situatiei, punctata de chitara electrica si ritmul sacadat. O piesa foarte bine lucrata si aranjata pana la cel mai “neimportant” detaliu si care reuseste sa transmita si frica, si nelinistea, si rusinea simtita de tinerii care au adormit in timpul filmului, declansand astfel aparente mult mai nocive pentru ei.
